Foundation to Fight H-ABC Welcomes Two Leading Experts to Advisory Team
The Foundation to Fight H-ABC is thrilled to announce the addition of Dr. Eric Mallack and Dr. Josh Bonkowsky to our Advisory Board. These two world-renowned experts bring critical expertise in clinical care, neurogenetics, and leukodystrophy research, strengthening our mission to advance understanding and treatment of H-ABC.
Dr. Eric Mallack, MD is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and Director of Clinical Research at the Moser Center for Leukodystrophies. He oversees clinical, neuroimaging, and trial research programs, while also seeing patients in the Newborn Screening Follow-up, Multidisciplinary Leukodystrophy, and Neurogenetics Clinics. Dr. Mallack’s research focuses on brain development in disease and predicting onset and progression in cerebral adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD).
Dr. Josh Bonkowsky, MD is a Professor of Pediatric Neurology at the University of Utah. His clinical and research work centers on leukodystrophies, language impairments, and the genetics of complex neurobehavioral traits. Using both local and national datasets, Dr. Bonkowsky investigates the genetic and medical impacts of these rare disorders, providing insights that guide patient care and potential therapies.
As scientific advisors to the Foundation to Fight H-ABC, Dr. Mallack and Dr. Bonkowsky will lend their expertise to guide research strategy, clinical care initiatives, and advocacy efforts. Their involvement strengthens the Foundation’s commitment to improving diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes for children and families affected by this rare disorder.
